Agency Status & Regulatory Compliance
Operator Responsibilities & Licensing: Drive Chauffeur operates under Private Hire Operator Licence PHO10 issued by Guildford Borough Council. As a licensed operator, Drive Chauffeur accepts bookings and ensures all journeys are dispatched to fully licensed, vetted, and insured drivers or sub-contracted operators in compliance with local government private hire legislation.
Booking Agency Status: Bookings are accepted by Drive Chauffeur acting strictly as a disclosed booking agent on behalf of the self-employed driver or subcontracted operator executing the journey. The contract for the provision of carriage is formed directly between the passenger and the fulfilling driver/operator.
Sub-Contracting Rights: In accordance with Section 55A of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, Drive Chauffeur reserves the right to sub-contract or fulfill any booking through another licensed private hire operator or licensed independent driver.
VAT Status Statement: Transport services are provided by independent drivers/operators who are not VAT-registered. Where applicable, VAT is charged solely on the booking fees and commission retained by Drive Chauffeur.
Bookings
We request a minimum of 8 hours notice for any online bookings. If your booking is less than 8 hours, please call our office at 01483 725155 to check availability.
Passengers must allow sufficient time for airline check-ins and potential traffic delays. Drive Chauffeur is not responsible for delays caused by failure to allow enough travel time.
You must order a suitable vehicle size for your party and luggage. We cannot guarantee transport for excessive amounts of luggage.
Cancellations
To cancel a booking, please email our team or contact us directly at +44 (0) 1483 725155. Our updated dispatch policy is as follows:
If a driver has been dispatched, we will charge for the mileage incurred and a portion of the fare.
If you cancel a booking after the vehicle has been dispatched, the charge will be calculated based on the distance and time the allocated Drive Chauffeur driver has travelled prior to the point of cancellation.
If a specific vehicle/chauffeur was requested and a deposit paid, or if additional services were purchased on your behalf, we reserve the right to retain the deposit and charge for those specific costs.
Waiting Charges
Our waiting charges are £10 per every 15 minutes.
Incoming flights include 60 minutes of free waiting time. After 60 minutes of no contact, the booking will be recorded as a "no show" and no refund will be offered.
Client Behaviour
We reserve the right to terminate any booking if behavior puts the driver or vehicle at risk. Consumption of alcohol, drugs, eating, drinking, or smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles.
Clients are responsible for any cleaning costs incurred if a vehicle is soiled by a passenger.
Liability & Performance
As a booking agent, Drive Chauffeur facilitates the booking of transportation. While we exercise due care in dispatching fully licensed drivers, liability for the operation of the vehicle and journey delays rests with the fulfilling driver/operator, subject to statutory licensing requirements.
All vehicles are fully insured for passenger and third-party claims; however, personal property is carried at the owner's risk.
Drive Chauffeur is not liable for car breakdowns, severe traffic, road closures, or extreme weather conditions. We strongly advise all customers to maintain valid travel insurance.
It is illegal to make a private booking with our drivers. We are not liable for any situation faced on bookings not confirmed directly with our office.
